Support Scrapper
The GW2 Support Scrapper — also called the Booster Scrapper — is the engineer's offensive-support build for open world: you deal damage and hand Quickness, Might, Fury and Superspeed to everyone around you at the same time. Full Celestial makes it absurdly tanky, the boons fall out of your combos for free, and one Function Gyro revives a downed ally on the spot. It is beginner-friendly and never stops helping — the trade is that it is a jack-of-all-trades, not a top damage or a dedicated healer.
Equipment
Full Celestial — one set, everything. On a support build that hybrid spread is exactly what you want: enough power and precision that your combos still hit, enough Vitality, Toughness and Healing Power to be almost unkillable, and enough Concentration to stretch every boon you hand out — and Rune of the Pack piles on more boon duration, so the Quickness, Might and Fury you share stick around longer. Engineer wears medium armour, so the named ascended Celestial set is the Leatherworker's Wupwup pieces. Exotic Celestial is within a few percent and fine for all of open world.
Engineer has no weapon swap, and this build does not need one — your second bar is the Grenade Kit. Hammer is your melee weapon and your best source of combo finishers (Electro-whirl whirls, Rocket Charge leaps, Thunderclap's lightning field); the grenades add blasts and range. The Hammer runs two sigils, Accuracy for critical chance and Force for flat damage. Relic of the Thief tops up your endurance and Might; swap it for Durability if you want pure survival.
Weapon alternatives sustain
Relic of the Thief is the default. One common survival swap.
Plate of Coq Au Vin with Salsa and Potent Superior Sharpening Stone, both taken from Hardstuck’s version of this build. The food is a feast: one use serves everyone standing near you for five minutes, which is worth more in a meta event than on your own. The utility item converts what you already have: power from 3% precision and 6% ferocity.

How the build works
One picture. Every boon this build hands out comes from the same thing: landing a combo finisher inside one of your own fields. Do that on repeat and the whole group is drowning in Quickness, Might, Fury and Superspeed.
- Land a finisher — Blast, leap or whirl
- In a combo field — Your wells and fields
- Kinetic Accelerators — Quickness, Might, Fury to allies
- Gyros pulse Superspeed — Wells + Gyroscopic Acceleration
- Impact Savant — Your damage becomes barrier
- Object in Motion — Boons become your damage
Kinetic Accelerators is the engine. Land a blast, leap or whirl finisher in a combo field and it grants boons to everyone near you — and it even turns your Function Gyro into a blast finisher. Because your gyros are wells and the Hammer is full of finishers, you are comboing constantly without thinking about it.
Skills
Four of your five skills are wells and a kit, and that is the point — the wells are combo fields and Superspeed pulses, and the Grenade Kit is your ranged bar and a pile of blast finishers. Medic Gyro heals and drops a water field; Shredder Gyro and Blast Gyro bring damage, crowd control and more fields; and Sneak Gyro is a mass-stealth panic button for the whole group.
- Heal — Medic Gyro
- Utility — Grenade Kit
- Utility — Shredder Gyro
- Utility — Blast Gyro
- Elite — Sneak Gyro

Traits
Three lines: Explosives for damage and healing off your grenades, Firearms for critical hits, and Scrapper for the boons and barrier that make this a support build.
- Explosives — Glass Cannon · Aim-Assisted Rocket · Big Boomer
- Firearms — High Caliber · No Scope · Sharpshooter
- Scrapper — Gyroscopic Acceleration · Object in Motion · Kinetic Accelerators
How the engine actually works
Explosives is damage and a chunk of your sustain. Glass Cannon raises your strike damage while your health is high — easy to keep, because you are so tanky — and Big Boomer both hits harder against low-health foes and heals you every time you land an explosion.
Aim-Assisted Rocket fires a free rocket whenever your missiles hit, building toward an orbital strike — passive extra damage that asks nothing of you while you focus on comboing.
Firearms turns your attacks critical. High Caliber gives extra critical chance at close range, No Scope converts those crits into Fury, and Sharpshooter makes the bleeding your crits apply scale off Power instead of Condition Damage — so even your conditions ride your power stat.
Scrapper is where the support lives. Kinetic Accelerators is the whole reason this is a booster: land a finisher in a field and nearby allies get Quickness, Might and Fury, and your Function Gyro becomes a blast finisher on top. Weaving finishers into your own wells is your boon rotation.
Gyroscopic Acceleration makes your wells and Function Gyro pulse Superspeed to allies, so the whole squad moves faster between packs. And Object in Motion turns your own boons — Stability, Swiftness, Superspeed — back into strike damage, so buffing the group also buffs you.
Underneath it all is Impact Savant, the Scrapper minor, converting a share of your strike damage into barrier — the passive that keeps you standing while you support. The exact major picks come from the build code; decode it in-game to confirm.
Rotation
There is barely a rotation — you keep finishers landing in fields and the boons look after themselves. The priority: drop a field (Thunderclap or Medic Gyro), then blast, leap or whirl inside it, and repeat. Everything you press is either a field or a finisher.
Your weapon skills are all finishers or fields: at melee range the Hammer gives you Electro-whirl (a whirl), Rocket Charge (three leaps) and Shock Shield (a block), and Kinetic Accelerators makes your Function Gyro an additional blast finisher on top.
Blast finishers and combo fields
Your core pair: Electro-whirl (Hammer 2) and Shrapnel Grenade (Grenade Kit 2) share a cooldown, so you fire them together — a whirl and a blast, both finishers, both feeding Kinetic Accelerators. Rocket Charge (Hammer 3) then adds three leap finishers.
Fields are everywhere. Thunderclap is a lightning field, Medic Gyro is a water field, and your gyros are wells — so you almost always have something to blast. Blast a water field for area healing; blast a lightning field for swiftness and boons.
Function Gyro is your best trick. On Scrapper your F5 revives a downed ally instantly (or finishes a foe), and with Kinetic Accelerators it is also a blast finisher — so ressing someone can hand the group boons at the same time.
Stay near your allies. Every boon and heal you make is an area effect around you, so the value of this build is entirely about position — hang close to the group, not off in a corner.
The honest verdict

What it is best at, and what it is not:
This is the group player of the Scrapper builds — you make everyone around you faster, hit harder and survive longer, while being nearly unkillable yourself. The support role is the whole package — movement through Superspeed, some healing, condition cleanse when you slot Purge Gyro, and crowd control from the Hammer. It is not a top-DPS build and it is not a dedicated healer; it is a boon machine that also happens to do fine damage. Take it to carry a meta-event squad, run with friends, or just be useful without a healer's fragility.
Best for: meta-event trains, small groups and open-world squads, and anyone who likes buffing more than topping a meter. Not for: solo speed-killing a champion or dedicated raid healing.
Build code
This build's traits and skills are generated from its in-game template code. The code below is the one Hardstuck ships with this build; decoded against the official API it resolves to exactly the three specialisations, nine traits and five skills listed above.
[&DQMGNyYvKy3ZEgAAhgAAAK4SAAAnEwAAgxIAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA=] Questions
Is Support Scrapper good for solo open world?
Yes, and it is even better in a group. Solo, full Celestial and the barrier from Impact Savant make it extremely hard to kill, and you still do fine damage from the Hammer and grenades. In a group or a meta-event squad it shines: you hand out Quickness, Might, Fury and Superspeed to everyone around you at once. The trade is that it is a jack-of-all-trades — not the fastest killer, not a pure healer.
What boons does the Support Scrapper give?
Quickness, Might and Fury to nearby allies through Kinetic Accelerators whenever you land a blast, leap or whirl finisher in a combo field, plus Superspeed from your gyro wells through Gyroscopic Acceleration. It is offensive support: boons and damage rather than dedicated healing.
Is this a healer or a quickness build?
It is an offensive-support booster build first. It shares some healing — Medic Gyro's water field and Big Boomer's explosion healing — and it does provide Quickness, but its job is boons and superspeed for the group, not raid-grade healing. If you want a pure healer, that is a different Scrapper setup.
How do I actually share the boons?
Land combo finishers inside your own combo fields. Your gyros are wells, Thunderclap is a lightning field and Medic Gyro is a water field; your Hammer and grenades are full of blast, leap and whirl finishers. Kinetic Accelerators does the rest, granting boons to everyone near you each time you combo. Stay close to your allies so the area effects land on them.
Do I need ascended gear, or is exotic enough?
Exotic Celestial is completely fine for all of open world and much cheaper. Ascended is a small stat bump plus the agony resistance fractals want, which open world never asks for. Build the exotic set first, and only chase the ascended Wupwup pieces if you want the last few percent.
Grenade Kit or Mortar Kit?
Both work. The Grenade Kit gives you blast finishers and range on the utility bar; the Elite Mortar Kit is the common alternative for even more combo fields — water, fire, light and poison — plus long-range tagging. Many players run the Mortar over Sneak Gyro when they want more fields and less stealth.
How is this different from the Power Scrapper?
The Power Scrapper is a personal DPS build that happens to share Quickness; the Support Scrapper is built the other way round — a boon machine first, trading some of its own damage for Might, Fury, Superspeed and more group healing, on a full Celestial bruiser chassis. Same class, different job.
About this build
The Support Scrapper, also known as the Booster Scrapper, is a Celestial offensive-support Engineer build for open world in Guild Wars 2. It runs a full set of Celestial gear across the Explosives, Firearms and Scrapper specialisations, with a Hammer and the Grenade Kit and a bar of gyro wells. The build is built around Kinetic Accelerators: landing a blast, leap or whirl finisher in one of your combo fields grants Quickness, Might and Fury to nearby allies, while Gyroscopic Acceleration pulses Superspeed and Impact Savant converts your damage into barrier. It is a beginner-friendly, extremely tanky boon-support build that trades top-end damage and dedicated healing for constant group buffs.
